Wiltshire Council

Wiltshire Council supports arts throughout the county which positively contributes to the lives of individuals and communities. It achieves this by working with:

  • arts facilities
  • centres
  • theatres
  • festivals
  • artists
  • and a wide range of other arts and community organisations.

In one year their performances and events in Bradford on Avon, Corsham, Chippenham, Devizes, Marlborough, Salisbury, Warminster and Wiltshire communities were enjoyed by over 590,000 locals and visitors.

Artist Susan Francis led banner-making workshops in AmesburyWiltshire Council is currently reforming and recruiting for its Arts Service, bringing together the services that were provided by the former county and district authorities. The arts team will work with colleagues and its local and regional partners both in the arts sector and wider voluntary/community sector to develop the future policies and direction of the arts service. Through this work, the service will develop, support and deliver a wide range of arts initiatives, aiming to provide high quality, low cost, customer focused and community orientated performances and events.

The Arts Service currently supports a number of initiatives and organisations across the county. It also works with the council’s Development Services for Young People, which aims to stimulate and deliver high quality arts opportunities for young people that are relevant to their needs and interest. Future schemes and initiatives can be viewed on their website.
